If you never thought America would devolve into an actual police state, your opinion was probably changed at the start of, and during, the COVID-19 pandemic, when one left-wing authoritarian mayor and governor after another imposed soul-and-economy-crushing lockdowns. And now that vaccines are available, many of these same people including medical groups, hospitals and corporations run by like-minded leftists are now demanding that in order to take part in their services, people will have to have a COVID-19 jab. It's tyranny deluxe and we're still seeing it play out. And if that didn't convince you, this will: A national school board organization has actually petitioned the Biden regime to utilize the full scope and power of the federal government to come down on parents whose crime is showing up to local school board meetings and loudly protesting, as is their First Amendment right, divisive critical race theory curriculum, ridiculous transgender policies and filthy sexual materials including adult-child sex presented to young students in school libraries. “America’s public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat. The National School Boards Association (NSBA) respectfully asks for federal law enforcement and other assistance to deal with the growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation,” the letter from NSBA President Viola Garcia and NSBA interim Executive Director and CEO Chip Slaven noted last week. “Local school board members want to hear from their communities on important issues and that must be at the forefront of good school board governance and promotion of free speech. However, there also must be safeguards in place to protect public schools and dedicated education leaders as they do their jobs,” the letter said. “As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes,” they added. And because the Biden regime is owned by teachers unions, naturally the president dutifully responded. On Monday, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a new effort to force parents to shut up or be subjected to prosecution -- because that's really what it amounts to. "Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland in a statement. “Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.” “The Department takes these incidents seriously and is committed to using its authority and resources to discourage these threats, identify them when they occur, and prosecute them when appropriate,” Garland noted further in a memo. “In the coming days, the Department will announce a series of measures designed to address the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel.” Now, nearly two dozen other organizations are battling back. "On behalf of our 427,000 members, the undersigned organizations write in response to your September 29th letter to President Biden requesting 'federal assistance to stop threats and acts of violence' against school board members, school officials, and teachers," a letter to the NSBA on Saturday began, according to the Post Millennial. "In that letter you requested that the federal government 'investigate, intercept, and revert the current threats and acts of violence against our public school officials through existing statues, executive authority, interagency and intergovernmental task forces, and other extraordinary measures' and that the government leverage 'the expertise and resources of the US Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), US Department of Homeland Security, US Secret Service, and its National Threat Assessment Center,'" the letter adds. The groups pointed out that the NSBA was hyper-inflating the number of instances where there was violence or threatening behavior at school board meetings in order to justify the request for federal help. "Your letter to President Biden is a thinly veiled threat, intended to intimidate into silence and submission the very constituents that your members ostensibly represent," the letter reads. Republican lawmakers railed at Biden for the Justice Department's decision to take this nonsense seriously. “Parents are speaking out against Critical Race Theory in schools. Now the Biden administration is cracking down on dissent,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) tweeted in response to the DOJ announcement. “At his confirmation hearing, Merrick Garland promised not to follow the Obama model of weaponizing DOJ to target & persecute his political opponents,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said. “Just a few months in, he’s already breaking that promise.” Sources include: ThePostMillennial.com USAFeatures.news NewsTarget.com
