Highly decorated US military officer resigns in protest of COVID vaccine mandate

A highly decorated member of the United States military has resigned in protest of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine mandate enforced by the Department of Defense (DOD). After serving the U.S. military for almost two decades, Lieutenant Colonel Bradley Miller quit his post due to the Pentagon's reckless and illegal vaccine mandate. "I left the Army with my integrity intact and my oath to the Constitution unbroken," said Miller, who led a battalion in the 101st Airborne Division and a graduate of the Army's School of Advanced Military Studies. Miller responded with a strong counterstatement when Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin released the order mandating the COVID mRNA vaccine. "I believe the vaccines are both unnecessary and dangerous. I believe they represent far more of a risk to individual and collective readiness than the COVID-19 virus against which they ostensibly guard. Therefore, I believe the more responsible decision that I could make for the health of myself and those around me is to refuse to take the vaccines. I have never refused a vaccine required by the Army before, and have received many vaccines over the years," Miller said. In spite of being a couple of months away from qualifying for a pension, Miller resigned in protest of the Pentagon's mRNA mandate.

Vaccine mandate creates readiness and preparedness issues within US military

The vaccine mandate, which is being imposed on extrajudicial grounds by the Pentagon, has created readiness and preparedness issues within the U.S. military as the COVID-19 vaccines proved ineffective in protecting against the disease. Thousands of soldiers have applied for a religious exemption to the mandate since it was the only way to challenge the requirement. Miller said in a recent interview with NTD News that he did not apply for a religious exemption as a matter of principle. "I was a hard refusal. Not because I don't have extreme religious objections to these injections. I do, but in my mind, having a religious objection would almost concede that the shots are safe, or the shots are effective. I didn't want an exception for myself. I was against this mandate from 0 to 100. I wanted it rescinded, wholesale. I still want it rescinded wholesale. At no time was I looking for an exception for myself," said Miller, whose resignation rendered him ineligible for a retirement pension. Miller stated that he chose to give up his material benefits to preserve his integrity. "I gave up my command; I gave up my career; I gave up my retirement pension. But I still think I came out a winner because, after 19 years of service, I left the army with my integrity intact, and my oath to the Constitution unbroken," Miller said. Miller retired a few months before completing two decades of service in the U.S. Army. He was removed from command in October 2021 due to his refusal to get the COVID shot, after which he formally resigned from his position. He stressed that he would not be contented with an exemption only for himself. The veteran Army officer is aiming for a total lifting of the order that imposes vaccination for military personnel. Meanwhile, the Joe Biden administration continues to ask Americans to get the COVID vaccine, cooperating with the country's healthcare organizations, using media campaigns and investing millions of dollars into the endeavor. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends two primary doses of the vaccine followed up by a booster. Former President Donald Trump, during a speech launching his reelection bid, said that if reelected, he will reinstate all military personnel who were forced out because of vaccine mandates.
