Left-wing lunatic professor who held NY Post reporter at bay with a machete fired from job
New York City is replete with far-left 'prosecutors' and district attorneys who regularly refuse to charge people with crimes under the false guise of "judicial reform" and "combatting racism," but there was some semblance of justice anyway in the case of a lunatic professor who held a
New York Post reporter at bay with a machete earlier this week.
"Shellyne Rodriguez was sacked by Hunter College just hours after the adjunct professor was caught on camera holding the blade to the veteran reporter’s neck while threatening to 'chop' him up outside her Bronx apartment,"
The Post reported.
Vince Dimiceli, a spokesman for the college, told the outlet, “Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action. Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school.”
The disturbed art professor brandished a machete and made threatening comments in response to the veteran Postie who approached her about a viral video capturing her aggressive behavior towards pro-life students at Hunter College earlier this month.
In addition, it has come to light that Rodriguez is involved in a legal dispute with the NYPD, as she has accused officers of mistreating her during her arrest in the Bronx amid a George Floyd protest in June 2020, The Post added.
As the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit, Rodriguez asserts that she sustained nerve damage as a result of being restrained with zip ties during her arrest and being transported in a prisoner van with 14 other protesters, The Post reported, adding:
The lawsuit claims Rodriguez was attacked by cops while trying to leave the protest.
Officers allegedly pulled her hair, shoved her face into a gate and repeatedly punched her in the stomach, according to court filings.
Once she was in custody, Rodriguez told a cop her restraints were too tight, but the officer “yanked on [her] zip ties hard and tightened them even further” — causing her to “scream out in pain,” the suit says.
Rodriguez “felt pain with every jerk of the van during the lengthy ride” to the precinct, court papers claim, the outlet reported.
Earlier, she "flipped out on a group of students who set up an information table opposing abortion inside the school building — cursing and tossing their pamphlets, video of the interaction shows,"
The Post reported in a separate story.
She told the pro-life students they were “triggering” her other students by setting up a display table inside the college.
The footage of her freak-out was posted to Twitter by Students for Life of America.
“You’re not educating s–t. This is f–king propaganda,” the art professor told the students tabling on May 2. “What are you going to do, like anti-trans next?”
“I mean no, we’re talking about abortion” a male student behind the table said, going on to apologize for “triggering” her students.
She went on to claim their display was "violent" and told the male student he wasn't really sorry “because you can’t even have a f–king baby."
According to the footage posted online, she then pushed all of the pro-life materials off the students' tables saying, “f–k this s–t” before walking away.
A spokesperson for the college told The Post
that the institution was “taking this matter very seriously.”
“The provost has opened an investigation into the professor’s actions,” the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, the left-wing PSC Graduate Center, a labor union chapter representing CUNY professors and graduate assistants, claimed the pro-life students had “set up a table and prominent banners to propagate dangerously false propaganda.”
The group added that Rodriguez's "actions to shut down the tabling were fully justified and are part of a long and celebrated CUNY legacy of confronting groups such as military recruiters who disseminate misleading information,”
the group said in a letter.
